Problems creating an iCloud account? Here’s what to do.

First, double-check that your selected email address isn’t already in use. If the email is already in use, a message will display and suggestions in the Suggestions box on an iOS device or the menu that appears when you click the down arrow on a Mac.

When setting up an Apple Mail account on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod, you might encounter the “Problem Turning on Mail” issue. If this happens, exit iCloud and return. Verify that you have logged out using the correct Apple ID and password.

To sign out of iCloud, go to the menu in the top right corner, click your name, scroll down until you see Sign Out, and follow the on-screen instructions.

An email alias allows you to hide your iCloud email address from a recipient, manage the emails you receive and monitor unwanted emails or spam. Additionally, if you’re on iOS 15 or later, you can use the Hide My Email function.

With iCloud Mail, you may set up three aliases, each of which can send and receive email. Remember that if you have an email alias, you cannot sign into iCloud.com with that address, create a new Apple ID, or convert the handle to your primary email.

Here are the measures to follow to create an email alias in iCloud:

  1. Launch your web browser, then sign into your Apple ID at iCloud.com.
  2. Select the Email option.
  3. You can access the settings by clicking the gear icon at the top right corner to access the settings.
  4. Pick Your Preferences
  5. Click on the Account menu.
  6. Make use of the option labeled “Add an alias…”
  7. Your new email address will be your chosen alias, so consider it.
  8. Include your full name in the From field for all outgoing emails.
  9. You can keep track of which emails are sent to which alias, assign each one a label and assign that label a color.
  10. Select the ‘Done’ button.

Following these procedures will follow you to disable or delete an alias from iCloud.com:

  1. Launch a web browser, go to iCloud.com, and sign in using your Apple ID.
  2. Select the Email option.
  3. Select the gear icon in the upper left corner to access the settings.
  4. Pick Your Preferences
  5. Click on the Account menu.
  6. To disable or delete an alias, click its name on the left side of the screen.
  7. To turn off aliases, click the box.
  8. It’s also possible to delete the entire sentence.
