PayPal has changed the way online payments are made. People all over the world use PayPal to send and receive money. But this doesn’t mean that PayPal is free of bugs. Sometimes, you might find that you can’t get into your PayPal account.
There could be several reasons why PayPal isn’t working right. The site might be down, or you might not have enough money in your account or have a fake account. You could also be having trouble with the site itself. There’s also a chance that your bank account has been hacked. If you can’t get into your PayPal account, here are some things that might be wrong.
It’s possible that the problem is where you are right now.
Ensure you’re not hiding your IP address using a virtual private network (VPN) or any other tool that hides your location. If you try to log into your account from a country other than your own, you might not be able to. You should be able to log into your account and use it normally after a few hours.
Someone may have changed how your computer’s keyboard is set up, so you may not be typing what you think. Type the password into a simple text editor to ensure you have the right one.
System Language Icon Check
If you’re using Windows 10, click on the system language icon at the bottom right of the screen. Make sure the layout of your keyboard is right. Under Keyboard in System Preferences, you can find the Input Sources tab. If you need to, you can change your settings to get the most out of the app.
Clearing the cache
You might not be able to get into your PayPal account because of the cache and add-ons on your browser. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies and then restart it. If you can’t log in to your PayPal account, try logging in again.
The PayPal app is not current.
You can also check if there’s a newer version of the PayPal app for Android or iOS. Look for PayPal in the Google Play Store and click “Update.” Contact customer service if you’ve already tried all of these things and still can’t get into your PayPal account.
Check to see if PayPal is not available.
Check to see if PayPal is down. You can check the PayPal status page if you can access other online services and websites, but if you can’t, you should check the status of PayPal first.
Check the uptime of your website with a site like Down Detector, Down for Everyone, or Just Me to learn out why you can’t log in to your PayPal account.
Check at your bank account.
It’s possible that your bank account hasn’t been verified yet, and until that happens, PayPal can’t approve your transactions. You can use PayPal’s Help Center to learn out how to verify your bank account.
Verify the information about your credit card.
If you use a credit or debit card to pay with PayPal, the card may need to be verified before PayPal will accept it. PayPal makes it easy to verify a credit or debit card linked to your account by telling you not to log in to your PayPal account.
Use a device you’re familiar with.
If you have used PayPal with a device or system that worked, try it again. PayPal may suspect you don’t own the account because you use a new device to access the service.
You can use a different browser.
Some web browsers can sometimes cause issues with online services. If you’re having issues with Chrome, use Firefox instead. If you can’t log in to your PayPal account, try a different browser like Safari, Edge, or Opera.
Unplug your VPN.
You might want to turn off your VPN or proxy service for this transaction. Your made-up location could be causing issues for PayPal. Sometimes, you can get PayPal to work again by using your PayPal balance instead of a credit or debit card. To learn money from your bank account to your PayPal account, go to Wallet > Add money and follow the steps on the screen. You can’t log in if you don’t have a PayPal account.
Use a device you’re familiar with.
If you have used PayPal with a device or system that worked, try it again. Because you are using a new device to access the service, PayPal may suspect you are not the account’s original owner.
